SPECIAL RELEASE: Summary Inflation Report Consumer Price Index: Davao del Norte (2018=100) November 2022

 

The headline inflation in Davao del Norte increased by 2.8 percentage points in November 2022 (7.0%) compared to its inflation rate in the same month last year, which was recorded at 4.2 percent. The current inflation rate (7.0%) of the province is lower compared to the headline inflation of the Philippines and Davao Region, which stood at 8.0 percent and 9.7 percent, respectively (Table A). The average inflation of Davao del Norte for the first 11 months of the year 2022 stood at 5.7 percent (Table B).

The headline inflation in Davao del Norte increased by 2.9 percent in October 2022 (7.2%) compared to its inflation rate in the same month last year, which was recorded at 4.3 percent. The current inflation rate (7.2%) of the province is lower compared to the headline inflation of the Philippines and Davao Region, which stood at 7.7 percent and 9.8 percent, respectively (Table A).

A resident of Davao del Norte needed at least PhP 2,279.00 to meet the monthly basic requirements to stay out of poverty in 2021. Hence, a family of five in Davao del Norte needed a monthly income of at least PhP 11,397.00 to meet their basic food and non-food needs.

The Purchasing Power of Peso measures the current value of the peso in reference to its value in the base year. It has an inverse relationship with the inflation rate, which means that if the inflation rate increases, the PPP decreases. The PPP for September 2022 further dipped to 0.86 from 0.87 on August 2022. This suggests that Php100.00 in 2018 is now currently valued at Php86.00

The sex ratio in the municipality of B.E. Dujali was computed at 104 in 2020. This suggests that there were 104 males for every 100 females in the household population. (Table 1) In 2020, children aged below 15 years old and those aged 15 to 64 years old had a sex ratio of 106 and 104 respectively. On the other hand, those aged 65 years old and over had a sex ratio of 90 males per 100 females. This depicts a longer life expectancy among females than males. (Table 1 and Figure 2)

The demographic characteristics of customer-respondents of the CRS Serbilis Outlet under review revealed that 72 (68%) of the total respondents were females, while 34 (32%) were males. The educational attainment showed that majority of the respondents were college graduate or higher with 58.0 percent, 34.0 percent of the respondents were high school graduates, while 8 percent of the respondents were elementary. (Table 1).

29 September 2022 – CITY OF TAGUM. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Davao del Norte PSO) piloted its first ever Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS) for the Civil Registry System (CRS) Outlet in Tagum City on 12 to 16 September 2022 with 100 percent response rate from the One Hundred Six (106) randomly selected costumers of the outlet as respondents. This survey marked as another milestone for the PSA Davao del Norte PSO, especially the CRS Outlet - Tagum since it is the first CSS to be undertaken since its opening on 15 March 2022.

In the Philippines, people aged 60 years old and over are regarded as senior citizens. In San Isidro, they made up 10.5 percent (2,863) of the household population in 2020 in the same municipality. There were more males (50.02%) than females (49.98%) among the senior citizens in the same reference period. (Table 1 and Figure 6)
