Supervising Statistical Specialist Michelle O. Maningo highlighted that one of the objectives of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System is to establish a data collection, data sharing, and information management system which shall respect fundamental human right to privacy, ensure data quality, and uphold data protection; principles of legitimate purpose, transparency, proportionality and generate relevant statistics at higher levels that will complement and supplement the local level data.
It was also discussed the Scope and Coverage of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), one of the coverage is for the 2024 CBMS implementation, the PSA aims to cover all 1st to 6th income class cities and municipalities in the country, and those with no income classification yet. Furthermore, the roles and responsibilities of the CBMS Coordinating Board was also discussed and they actively participated throughout the convening.
CBMS data provides communities with evidence to support their advocacy efforts, allowing them to effectively communicate their needs and priorities to government officials and other stakeholders. This can lead to more responsive and accountable governance at the local level.
