In the first quarter of 2024, the overall volume of cereal production in Davao del Norte
was 37,805.1 metric tons, a 22.6 percent decrease from 48,858.8 metric tons of the
same period in the previous year.
The Philippine Statistics Authority – Provincial Statistical Office of Davao del Norte (PSA-PSO DDN) partnered with the City Civil Registrar Office of Tagum for a mobile registration initiative. On 06 February 2025, PSA-PSO DDN conducted an on-site National ID Registration and issued printable National IDs to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in City of Tagum, Davao del Norte. This activity was part of the 35th Civil Registration Month celebration, aiming to create a resilient and future-fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system.
The Provincial Statistical Office of Davao del Norte (PSO-DavNor) recently participated in an informative segment of the PTV-DavNor program, "Kasamtangan Katikaran sa Kalambuan" (KKK), in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). This initiative aims to promote National ID registration as part of the Family Development Session (FDS) equivalency program.
The headline inflation of Davao del Norte decreased by 1.3 percentage points in December 2024 (1.6%) compared to its inflation rate in the same month last year, which was recorded at 2.9 percent. The current inflation rate (1.6%) of the province is lower compared to the headline inflation of the Philippines and Davao Region which was recorded at 2.9 percent and 2.2 percent, respectively
The inflation in Davao del Norte for bottom 30% income households increased by 0.4 percentage points in December 2024 (1.4%) compared to its inflation rate in the same month last year, which was recorded at 1.0 percent. The current inflation rate (1.4%) in the province is lower compared to the figure of the Philippines (2.5%) but higher compared to Davao Region which was recorded at 1.1 percent.
The economy of Davao del Norte increased by 6.0 percent in 2023, which is slower compared to the 6.7 growth recorded in 2022. This represents an increase in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from PhP 168.66 billion in 2022 to PhP 178.72 billion in 2023. (Figure 1)
