A Provincial Consultative Workshop with Stakeholders in the Agriculture and Fishery Sector was organized on March 4, 2022 by the Macroeconomic Accounts Division in coordination with the PSA Regional Statistical Services Office XI. To support the advocacy on containing the spread of COVID19, a hybrid workshop environment was conducted to allow more participants to attend online and on-site at the Training Room of PSA Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office, Osmeña Street, City of Tagum, Davao del Norte.

In support to the institutionalization of the Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in Davao del Norte pursuant to Republic Act No. 11315, and the issuance of CBMS Council Resolution No. 06, Series of 2021, which approves the establishment of Provincial Community Based Monitoring System Coordination Board (PCCB) in the provinces, and mandates that it shall convene immediately after its organization, the PCCB of Davao del Norte assembled for an on-site meeting on 22 April 2022 at the Training Room of PSA Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office, Osmeña Street, City of Tagum, Davao del Norte.

SPECIAL RELEASE Official Poverty Statistics of Davao del Norte: First Semester of 2021 A resident of Davao del Norte needed at least PhP 2,257 to meet his or her monthly basic requirements to stay out of poverty in the first semester of 2021. Hence, a family of five in Davao del Norte needed a monthly income of at least PhP 11,287 to meet their basic food and non-food needs.

Consumer Price Index for All Income Households in Davao del Norte: August 2020

 

Year-on-Year Headline inflation picks up to 1.2 percent in August 2020 in the province of Davao del Norte. An inflation rate of 0.9 percent was recorded in August 2019, and 1.0 percent in July 2020. On the average, the retail price of consumer goods and services purchased by households in Davao del Norte is 123.5 in August 2020. All commodity groups, except for education, and recreation and culture, exhibited gains.

A slower annual headline inflation rate of 2.4 percent was recorded in Davao del Norte in June 2019. In June 2018, inflation settled at 4.6 percent and in May 2019, 2.1 percent. On the average, the retail price of consumer goods and services typically purchased by a household in Davao del Norte is 121.8 in the current month, higher than the 118.9 index in June 2018. The price indices of all the commodity groups except for education also increased.

The province of Davao del Norte posted an annual inflation rate of 2.1 percent in May 2019. In April 2019, inflation was recorded at 2.0 percent, and on the same month of the previous year, 5.3 percent. The average price of consumer goods and services commonly purchased in the province increased from 118.5 in May 2018 to 121.0 in May 2019. Increase in the price indices of the commodity groups were also observed, excluding education.

The Davao del Norte headline inflation rate remained at 2.0 percent in April 2019. This figure is lower than the 5.1 percent rate recorded on the same month of the previous year. Increase in the average retail price of the fixed basket of consumer goods and services were observed in the reference month, moving to 120.7 from 118.3 in April 2018. Indices of all commodity groups exhibited annual upticks, excluding education.

The proportion of Filipino families in Davao del Norte whose income fall below the poverty line to the total number of families was relatively low in the first semester of 2018, as a notable decrease to 14.5 percent in the poverty incidence was observed from the 27.2 percent figure in the same period of 2015.
