The 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) was officially convened with the CBMS Coordinating Board of the Municipality of Santo Tomas at Municipal Hall, Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte last 27th of February 2024.
Supervising Statistical Specialist Michelle O. Maningo highlighted the list of possible assistance to be provided by the CCBs. One of it is the use of transport facilities to assist CBMS data collectors and supervisors, and other CBMS-related equipment or documents when necessary or at least when targeting to operate in the least accessible areas (LLAs) of the LGU.
It was discussed also that the right to privacy of every respondent must remain inviolable. The citizen participating in the data collection shall be fully informed of the nature and extent of processing intended for his or her personal data. Participation in all data collection activities is purely voluntary (pursuant to Section 10 of the CBMS Act).
In conclusion, by leveraging the insights generated through Community-Based Monitoring System, LGUs can optimize the allocation of resources to areas where they are most needed. This strategic approach helps maximize the impact of limited resources, ensuring that investments align with the priorities and aspirations of local residents. As a result, development efforts become more efficient and equitable, contributing to inclusive growth and poverty reduction.
