The headline inflation in Davao del Norte increased at 5.7 percent in June 2022 compared to its inflation rate in June last year which was recorded at 3.6 percent. This is also lower compared to the headline inflation of the Philippines as a whole in June 2022 as well as the Davao Region which stood at 6.1 percent and 7.2 percent respectively (Table A). The average inflation of Davao del Norte for the first six months of the year 2022 stood at 4.8 percent (Table B).
The Davao del Norte (DavNor) Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) convened for its Quarter 2 Calendar Year (CY) 2022 Meeting on 03 June 2022, at the Training Room of the Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office (PSO), City of Tagum, Davao del Norte. Amoyen on June 1-2, 2022 at the Executive Conference Hall, LGU Bldg., San Isidro, Davao del Norte.
Livestock Inventory in Davao del Norte as of July 1, 2021 is reported at 177,533 heads. This denotes a decline of 20.9 percent from the inventory of same period of 2020 with 224,391 total heads (Table 1). Inventory for cattle slightly increased by 0.8 percent (13,383 heads from 13,282 heads in 2021). However, the declines in number of heads are shown from carabao (1.9 percent), goat (2 percent), and swine (31.8 percent).
The headline inflation in Davao del Norte in May 2022 was posted at 4.7 percent. It is lower by 1.7 percent when compared to Region XI (6.4%), and by 0.7 percent from the inflation rate of the Philippines (5.4%). The year-on-year inflation was accelerated to 4.7 percent in May 2022. It posted at 3.3 percent, and 2.7 percent in the same period of 2021 and 2020, respectively (Table B).
A Monthly Meeting with the Local Civil Registrars of Davao del Norte was called for by the Chief Statistical Specialist on May 12, 2022. The meeting was held at the Training Room of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office (DavNor PSO), Osmeña Street, City of Tagum, Davao del Norte.
The Philippine Statistics Authority – Davao del Norte is on track to finish it’s May to June 2022 data collection for the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) in the province. The data collection started on 02 May 2022, aiming to interview all 352 women from randomly selected households, and within selected households, with ages 15 to 49 years old.
The headline inflation in Davao del Norte increased at 4.7 percent in April 2022 compared to the recorded 4.0 percent in March 2022. This is also slightly lower compared to the headline inflation of the Philippines of the same month (Table A.) The month-on-month inflation in Davao del Norte of the current year showed that the highest recorded inflation was observed in January 2022 (5.6). While, the month of February has the lowest with 3.9 percent.
