Based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH), Davao de Oro had a household population of 766,299 persons. Of this total, 10.8 percent or 83,003 persons were comprised of the household population from the Municipality of Maco.

The total palay production in Davao de Oro for October-December 2022, estimated at 40,007 metric tons, was lower than the 41,325 metric tons production in 2021. One of the mandates of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is to administer civil registration functions in the country through the continuous efforts in intensifying the implementation of PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP). To facilitate this undertaking, PSA Davao de Oro, headed by Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Abraham Enrico E.
