18-20 July 2022 – DAVAO CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) XI, headed by Regional Director (RD) Ruben D. Abaro Jr. together with Supervising Statistical Specialist (SSS) Maria Leah C. Magracia, hosted the successful conduct of the second batch “Training/Workshop on Data to Non-Benchmark Estimation of the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA)” for the regional and provincial staff of the nine (9) regions last 18 to 20 July 2022 at the Waterfront Insular Hotel, Lanang, Davao City.
The headline inflation of prices in Davao de Oro Province increased further to 12.0 percent in July 2022 from 10.8 percent in June 2022. This is the highest recorded inflation of prices since January 2019. Inflation in July 2021 was lower at 3.6 percent. The average inflation for the first seven months of the year stood at 7.8 percent. (see Table 1 and Figure 1)
The headline inflation in Davao del Norte increased by 7.1 percent in July 2022 compared to its inflation rate in July last year, which was recorded at 4.2 percent. The current inflation figure is higher compared to the headline inflation of the Philippines as a whole, which stood at 6.4, but lower compared to the recorded inflation of the Davao Region at 8.6 (Table A).
The headline inflation of prices in Davao de Oro Province increased further to 10.8 percent in June 2022 from 9.0 percent in May 2022. This is the highest recorded inflation of prices since January 2019. Inflation in June 2021 was lower at 2.1 percent. The average inflation for the first six months of the year stood at 7.1 percent. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office (RSSO) XI spearheaded the successful conduct of the “Consultation Workshop with Stakeholders and Validation on the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) 2018 Benchmark Estimates of Davao Region” last 23 June 2022 at SMX Convention Center Davao, SM Lanang Premier, Davao City.
20 June 2022 – NABUNTURAN. As a policymaking body on statistical matters, the Provincial Statistical Committee (PSC) of Davao de Oro convened for their second meeting for the year at Comval Hotel, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro last June 2022. In the absence of PSC Chairperson Raymundo J. Pajarito, PSC Vice-Chairperson Abraham Enrico E. Gulay, Jr. presided the meeting with the 11 member agencies in attendance.
PSA Davao de Oro successfully conducted its Provincial Level Training on the Accomplishment of 2022 CBMS Barangay Profile Questionnaire (BPQ or Form 4) and City/Municipal Local Government Unit (LGU) Data Sheet (Form 7). BPQ and City/Municipal LGU Data Sheet are two of the CBMS forms to be accomplished during the synchronized national rollout of the PSA-led CBMS in 2022.
Davao de Oro population was recorded at 767,547 persons The total population of Davao de Oro Province as of May 1, 2020 was 767,547 based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH). It accounted for about 14.64 percent of the Davao Region population in 2020.
The headline inflation in the province eased to 3.3 percent in April 2021, after four consecutive months of acceleration. Inflation in the area in April 2020 was noted at 3.9 percent.
PSA Compostela Valley successfully concluded the Online PSA Data Mining Tutorial last June 26, 2019 at PSA ComVal Training Room. It was attended by the planning officers from different municipalities and representative from Provincial Planning and Development Office of Compostela Valley.
