The headline inflation of prices in Davao de Oro Province increased to 12.8 percent in December 2022 from 12.1 percent in November 2022 or an increase of 0.7 percentage point. Inflation of prices in December 2021 was lower at 4.7 percent. The average inflation for the whole year stood at 9.6 percent.
The headline inflation of prices in Davao de Oro Province decreased to 12.1 percent in November 2022 from 13.2 percent in October 2022 or a decreased of 1.1 percentage points. Inflation of prices in November 2021 was lower at 4.9 percent. The average inflation for the first eleven months of the year stood at 9.3 percent.
The economy of Davao de Oro posted a growth of 7.4 percent in 2021, a rebound from -4.1 percent decline in 2020. The Gross Provincial Domestic Product (GPDP) of the province was valued at PhP 87.8 billion in 2021 from the 2020 level of PhP 81.7 billion.
Poverty Threshold per Family per month in 2021 is estimated at PhP 10,900. The poverty incidence among families in Davao de Oro was estimated at 17.7 percent or roughly 18 out of 100 families were considered poor for the year 2021. The estimate was lower than the figure in year 2018 which was estimated at 18.6 percent or a decline of 0.9 percentage points. Similarly, the estimated number of poor families in Davao de Oro for the year 2021 is estimated at 33,570 families.
Urban population in Davao de Oro increases by 59,560. In 2020, 408,357 or 53.2 percent of the total 767,547 population of Davao de Oro lived in urban barangays. This represents an increase of 59,560 persons from the 348,797 urban residents in 2015. The rural population or those who lived in barangays classified as rural in 2020 comprised the remaining 359,190 persons or 46.8 percent of the total population.
Males outnumber females in Davao de Oro by 4.6 percent. Based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH), Davao de Oro had a total population of 767,547 persons. Of this total, the household population comprised 99.8 percent or 766,299 persons.
The headline inflation of prices in Davao de Oro Province increased to 13.2 percent in October 2022 from 12.5 percent in September 2022. This is the highest recorded inflation of prices since January 2019. Inflation of prices in October 2021 was lower at 3.4 percent. The average inflation for the first nine months of the year stood at 9.1 percent. (Table 1 and Figure 1)
