The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) Davao de Oro convened last 26 May 2023 at Nabunturan to serve as the Provincial Census Coordinating Board (PCCB) for the conduct of the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (2022 CAF).  The convening was presided by PSC Chairperson and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC) Alicia M. Graciadas and was attended by the PSC member agencies together with the resource persons from the agricultural offices and private sectors.

The discussion was led by PSC Vice-Chairperson and Chief Statistical Specialist Abraham Enrico E. Gulay, Jr. of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao de Oro. The committee was informed on the 2022 CAF overview: its legal basis, methodology, coordination activities, and timetable. More so, the composition and terms of reference of the PCCB was discussed since the PSC shall serve as the basic coordinating mechanism for 2022 CAF at the provincial level pursuant to PSA Board Resolution No. 04, series of 2023.

In addition, all member agencies are requested to provide assistance in the conduct of 2022 CAF in the province, this is also pursuant to PSA Board Resolution No. 03, series of 2023 which was also supported by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) wherein they released DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2023-020 with the same context for all local government units.

This first organizational meeting for the PSC-PCCB for the 2022 CAF was a success and everyone was enjoined to support its conduct on September 2023, which was also the declared National Agriculture and Fisheries Census Month, pursuant to PSA Board Resolution No. 14, series of 2023.

The convening was capped off with the committee reciting the 2022 CAF tagline, “CAFarmer, CAFisher, Tayo ang Bida!”.
