Special Release:Summary Inflation Report of Davao Oriental Consumer Price Index (2018=100) March 2023

 

The inflation in Davao Oriental continued to move at a higher rate of 12.4 percent in March 2023, from 11.3 percent in February 2023. This brings the average inflation from January to March 2023 at 11.2 percent. In March 2022, inflation was lower at 4.1 percent.

The inflation in Davao Oriental continued its uptrend as it moved up further to 11.3 percent in February 2023, from 10.0 percent in January 2023. The average inflation rate for the first two months of the year stood at 10.6 percent. In February 2022, inflation rate was lower at 4.2 percent. (Tables A and B, and Figure 1)

City of Mati, Davao Oriental – In celebration of the 33rd Civil Registration Month (CRM) this February 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Oriental Provincial Statistical Office conducted the 2nd Provincial Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Quiz Bee for Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) Personnel on 08 February 2023 at the Training Room of the provincial office. The quiz bee is patterned from the national conduct of CRVS Quiz Bee for LCRO Employees to highlight the celebration of CRM every February of every year. Now on its 2nd year, it is designed to test the knowledge of LCRO employees on civil registration and vital statistics as well as other relevant topics.

The inflation in Davao Oriental accelerated to 10.0 percent in January 2023, from 9.2 percent in December 2022. In January 2022, inflation rate was lower at 8.3 percent. (Tables A and B, and Figure 1)

In celebration of the 33rd Civil Registration Month (CRM) this February 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Oriental Provincial Statistical Office will conduct a series of CRVS lectures every Friday dubbed as “Friday CRVS Lecture Series.”The activity aims to update the knowledge of PSA personnel on various topics about civil registration and equip newly-hired personnel of the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) in the province. This will be done onsite and online via Google Meet.

The inflation in Davao Oriental decelerated to 9.2 percent in December 2022, from 9.3 percent in November 2022. In December 2021, the inflation was registered at 9.1 percent. This brings the year-to-date inflation for 2022 at 7.4 percent.

The inflation rate in Davao Oriental accelerated to 9.6 percent in September 2022, higher by 1.9 percentage points compared with the 7.7 percent inflation recorded in August 2022. In September 2021, inflation in the province was observed at 8.1 percent. The average inflation for the first nine months of the year stood at 6.9 percent
