The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) opened its 72nd Civil Registry System (CRS) Outlet during a festive ceremony dubbed as PAG-ABRI: The Inaugural Go-Live of PSA Davao Oriental’s CRS- City of Mati Outlet on 23 October 2024. This significant milestone for Oryental Dabawenyos was graced by officials of PSA including OIC-Deputy National Statistician (DNS) Clemente S. Manaog, MNSA of the Civil Registration and Central Support Office, OIC-Regional Director Randolph Anthony B. Gales of PSA Davao Region, OIC-CRASD Chief Baby Jean P. Alid, OIC-SOCD Chief Ma. Leah C. Magracia, and heads of PSA Provincial Offices, Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Emily P. Tomogdan of Davao Oriental, CSS Abraham Enrico E. Gulay of Davao de Oro, SSS Munria A. Banto of Davao Occidental, and RO II Lord Anthony R. Jandayan representing CSS Jessie A. Madulin of Davao del Sur. Also present during the event are Board Member Stephen Paul L. Uy representing Davao Oriental Governor Niño Sotero L. Uy Jr., and City Administrator Alan E. Andrada representing City of Mati Mayor Michelle N. Rabat.
In her welcoming remarks, Chief Statistical Specialist Emily P. Tomogdan of PSA Davao Oriental recognized the special guests attending the event and encouraged everyone to embrace the principles of integrity, commitment to excellence, and collaboration as Davao Oriental PSO advances with its CRS Outlet, symbolizing their dedication to public service. Meanwhile, Cristina O. Callao from UniSys Managed Services Corporation provided insights into the history of PSA and UniSys collaboration, expressing gratitude for the partnership that facilitates quicker and more efficient civil registration service delivery. OIC-Regional Director Randolph Anthony B. Gales reiterated PSA's dedication to establishing CRS outlets nationwide, aiming to ensure the accessibility of essential documents regardless of location through collaborations with UniSys. He also emphasized the principles of integrity, transparency, and commitment as PSA strives to enhance public service delivery, with a shared focus on positively impacting the lives of Filipinos.
In his speech, OIC-Deputy National Statistician Clemente S. Manaog, MNSA underscored the significance of providing public service, particularly to clients seeking civil registration documents. He stated, “The reason we want to establish CRS outlets in each province is to bring services closer to our fellow citizens,” thereby ensuring efficient and satisfactory public service for our clients. He then urged the staff assigned to the CRS outlet to deliver excellent service to clients, especially those residing in remote areas of the province. He also encouraged the Municipal Civil Registrars in attendance to collaborate with the PSO to ensure the success of the CRS operations.
City Administrator Alan E. Andrada conveyed the sentiments of City of Mati Mayor Michelle N. Rabat, who recognized the substantial effect of the CRS outlet on the city's residents and the province overall, as it will minimize long waiting times and enable faster access to civil registration documents like birth certificates. Conversely, Provincial Governor of Davao Oriental Niño Sotero L. Uy Jr., through the message delivered by Board Member Stephen Paul L. Uy, emphasized the positive impact of the CRS outlet's opening on the lives of the people and commended PSA for its commitment to transparency and service delivery for the citizens of Oryental Dabawenyos and beyond.
Residents of Davao Oriental and its neighboring provinces can now avoid the long hours of travel to Tagum City and Davao City as they can now request their much-needed civil registry documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, and CENOMAR here in the City of Mati CRS outlet. The outlet is situated at the Provincial Statistical Office of Davao Oriental, Miel Building, Rizal Extension, City of Mati, Davao Oriental. The outlet is open and can cater to clients from Mondays to Fridays 8 AM to 5 PM.
