SPECIAL RELEASE-2018-2020 LABOR FORCE SURVEY RESULTS IN DAVAO ORIENTAL

 

Persons in the labor force or economically active population include all persons 15 years old and over as of their last birthday who are either employed or unemployed. In 2020, Davao Oriental’s total population 15 years old and over was at 390,606 persons. The Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) during this period was estimated at 57.3 percent, accounting for about 223,893 economically active Oryental Davaoeños (see Table 1). This figure is 1.29 and 0.29 percentage points lower compared to the estimated LFPR in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

In the first semester of 2021, a family of five in Davao Oriental needed no less than PhP7,991, on average, to meet the family’s basic food needs for a month or PhP266 per day. This amount is the food threshold which is 8.68 percent or PhP638 higher than the PhP7,353 food threshold recorded in 2018.

The population of Davao Oriental as of 01 May 2020 was 576,343 persons. This population count is based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH).

The CPI is an indicator of the changes in the average retail prices of a fixed basket of goods and services commonly purchased by households relative to a base year.

CITY OF MATI – The Provincial Statistical Office of Davao Oriental, in coordination with the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Cateel, Davao Oriental conducted a “Symposium on Civil Registration” on 18 February 2019 (1PM-5PM) at Maryknoll Academy of Cateel. The symposium is one of the many activities of the provincial office in celebration of the 2019 Civil Registration Month (CRM).

The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental handed over a Plaque of Appreciation to Philippine Statistics Authority - Davao Oriental Provincial Statistical Office, along with other national line agencies, provincial departments, private sectors and also its personnel who have greatly helped in the realization and success of the Nagkakaisang Lingkod-Bayan ng Davao Oriental - Barangay Outreach Caravan (NLD-BOC) during the Fellowship and Awarding Program last July 22, 2017 at Honey's Hotel, City of Mati.

The population of Davao Oriental as of August 1, 2015 was 558,958 persons based on the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015). The 2015 population is higher by 41,340 compared with the population of 517,618 in 2010, and by 112,767 compared with the population of 446,191 in 2000.

City of Mati, Davao Oriental - The Philippine Statistics Authority - Davao Oriental Provincial Statistical Office conducted the 2016 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) Respondents Forum and Data Dissemination on May 17, 2017 at Tita Venus Restaurant. The activity gathered various stakeholders with the aims of soliciting cooperation and support as well as to disseminate the result of the 2014 ASPBI.
