The Davao Occidental annual headline inflation slide to 8.4 percent in January 2023, from 9.2 percent in December 2022. In January 2022, inflation rate was lower at 1.9 percent. (Table A and Figure 1)
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office recently conducted Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz Bee Provincial Elimination at Emil’s Place, Brgy. Lawa, Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental during the 33rd Civil Registration Month Opening/Kick-off on 01 February 2023. This competition aimed to raise responsiveness and progress their understanding of the significance of not only Civil Registration but also other PSA mandates such as statistics and the Philippine Identification System. It also includes situational questions on various queries and problems affecting the public in terms of obtaining civil registry documents.
01 February 2023, Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office in coordinationwith the Five (5) Municipalities of Davao Occidental kicked off with a Motorcade and Opening Program the month long celebration of the 33rd Civil Registration Month. Staff from PSA Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office and Local Civil Registry Offices participated the event. Don Marcelino Police Office, the Vice-Mayor’s office, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office also joined the activity.
Philippine Statistical Office – Davao Occidental headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin supports in observing the Goiter Awareness Week 2023 with the theme, “Leeg Kapain, Goiter Sugpuin: Isip ay Patalinuhin, Iodized Salt ay Gamitin.” With this, the office invited a representative from the Provincial Heath Office to conduct a lecture about Goiter on 26 January 2023 at 1:00 pm. The activity was attended by PSA Davao Occidental Employees.
On 23 January 2023, Estacion-Griño Primary Care Facility, represented by Dr. Jed Estacion Griño, MHA, gave an overview of the preliminary implementation of the Universal Health Care Act 11223 which talks about addressing the problem in the provision of basic health care to every Filipino. Philippine Health Insurance Corporation partnered with Estacion-Griño Primary Care Facility in Malita, Davao Occidental, the latter be the facilitator of the enrolment of Philhealth members in the National Health Insurance Program and provider of medical, dental, mental and emergency health services.
Philippine Statistical Office – Davao Occidental headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin together with the Provincial Planning and Development Office headed by Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Maria Theresa M. Ypil, EnP conducted an Orientation on Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). The activity was attended by representatives of the Municipal Planning and Development Offices, Municipal Budget Offices and Sangguniang Bayan of the five (5) Municipalities within the province of Davao Occidental on 19 January 2023 at the Provincial Planning and Development Office, Provincial Capitol

The Davao Occidental annual headline inflation increased to 9.2 percent in December 2022, from 8.7 percent in November 2022. With this month’s inflation, Davao Occidental average inflation from January to December 2022 stood at 6.0 percent. In December 2021, inflation rate was lower at 1.0 percent.

Madulin and the support of all PSA personnel, conducts the blessing and inauguration of its new office building. The world-class building and workplace are now located on National Highway, Poblacion, Malita, Davao Occidental.
