The total volume of palay production in the province recorded a decrease of 16.63 percent estimated at 583.09 metric tons for fourth quarter 2022 from 699.38 metric tons in the same quarter in the year 2021 as shown in Table 1.
The total volume of corn production in the province recorded a decrease of 13.39 percent estimated at 13,636.08 metric tons for fourth quarter 2022 from 15,726.52 metric tons in the same quarter in the year 2021 as shown in Table 1. Furthermore, area harvested for corn production this fourth quarter also recorded a decrease of 6.69 percent estimated at 9,083.00 hectares as compared to last year of 9,734.00 hectares.

With this month’s inflation, Davao Occidental average inflation for the first four months of 2023 stood at 8.1 percent. In April 2022, inflation rate was lower at 3.5 percent. (Table A and Figure 1)

With this month’s inflation, Davao Occidental average inflation for the first three months of 2023 stood at 8.4 percent. In March 2022, inflation rate was lower at 2.0 percent. (Table A and Figure 1)
