TECHNICAL NOTES:
Production refers to the quantity produced and actually harvested during the reference period. It includes those harvested but damaged, stolen, given away, consumed, given as harvester’s and thresher’s shares, reserved, etc.
Area Harvested- is the actual area from which harvests are realized, in hectares. This excludes crop area which was totally damaged. It may be smaller than the area planted. In crop statistics, this applies to mono-harvest temporary crops.
Yield- an indicator of productivity derived by dividing the total production by the area harvested
White Corn is a type of corn used primarily for human consumption
Yellow Corn is used generally as feed grains. It includes all types of corn other than white.
