Ypil, EnP conducted an Orientation on Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). The activity was attended by representatives of the Municipal Planning and Development Offices, Municipal Budget Offices and Sangguniang Bayan of the five (5) Municipalities within the province of Davao Occidental on 19 January 2023 at the Provincial Planning and Development Office, Provincial Capitol

The Davao Occidental annual headline inflation increased to 9.2 percent in December 2022, from 8.7 percent in November 2022. With this month’s inflation, Davao Occidental average inflation from January to December 2022 stood at 6.0 percent. In December 2021, inflation rate was lower at 1.0 percent.

The Davao Occidental annual headline inflation slightly increased to 8.5 percent in October 2022, from 8.4 percent in September 2022. With this month’s inflation, Davao Occidental average inflation from January to October 2022 stood at 5.5 percent. In October 2021, inflation rate was lower at 2.1 percent.

The Davao Occidental annual headline inflation continued its uptrend as it moved up further to 8.7 percent in August 2022, from 8.1 percent in July 2022. This is the highest recorded inflation since March 2019. With this month’s inflation, Davao Occidental average inflation from January to August 2022 stood at 4.7 percent. In August 2021, inflation rate was lower at 1.8 percent.
Household population comprises 99.9 percent of the total population As of 01 May 2020, Davao Occidental had a total population of 317,159 persons. Of this total, the household population comprised 99.9 percent or 316,907 persons. This is 1,153 individuals higher than the 315,754 household population in 2015, and 23,146 more than the 293,761 household population posted in 2010.
PhP 11,880 is needed in Davao Occidental to stay out of poverty Based on the Preliminary Results of the Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) in 2021, a family of five in Davao Occidental needed at least PhP 11,880 to be able to meet both basic food and non-food needs in a month. This is an increase of 12.4 percent from the poverty threshold posted in 2018 estimated at PhP 10,565. At the regional level, the monthly threshold was around PhP 11,709, on the average, which is PhP 171 lower than the provincial’s estimated threshold.
