The Davao Occidental annual headline inflation slowed further to 2.1 percent in July 2023, from 3.1 percent in June 2023. This is the fifth consecutive month of deceleration in the headline inflation and the lowest since April 2022 with an inflation rate of 3.5 percent
With the continued effort to collaborate with different Local Government Units (LGUs) and other government agencies the Municipal Government of Sta. Maria invited the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office to conduct a Step 2 mobile registration and ePhilID Issuance of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) at the Municipal Gym, Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental through the Culmination Activity of the 45th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week on July 31, 2023.

On 12-13 July 2023, PSA Davao Occidental held its 2023 Midyear Performance Review at Splash Blue Beach Resort II, San Agustin, Santa Maria, Davao Occidental. The said review aims to talk about how well the agency performed in relation to its commitment for the first semester of 2023.
To encourage camaraderie and teamwork among its staff, PSA Davao Occidental conducted its Midyear team building on 14 July 2023 at the Splash Blue Beach Resort II, San Agustin, Santa Maria, Davao Occidental. The activity started with Zumba dance for all the employees.

With this month’s inflation, Davao Occidental average inflation for the first semester of 2023 stood at 6.8 percent. In June 2022, inflation rate was higher at 7.0 percent. (Table A and Figure 1)
The Davao Occidental annual headline inflation eased to 5.3 percent in May 2023, from 7.0 percent in April 2023. With this month’s inflation, Davao Occidental average inflation for the first five months of 2023 stood at 7.5 percent. In May 2022, inflation rate was lower at 5.1 percent. (Table A and Figure 1)
