PSA Davao Occidental reached a 100 thousand mark of issued ePhilIDs in the province

As of June 2024, PhilSys Davao Occidental successfully issued a total of 115,820 ePhilIDs which is 42.05% of the total 275,390 registered individuals in the province.

In the First Semester of 2024, PSA Davao Occidental issued 1,452 ePhilIDs, 1,097 from the First Quarter (January-March 2024) and 355 in the Second Quarter of the year (April-June 2024) (Table 1).

A total of 20 National ID replacement successfully claimed by registrants

Last July 2023, PSA Davao Occidental launched the replacement of National ID with defective front-facing photograph. Registrants with peeled-off front-facing photograph in their National ID can now request a replacement.

As of June 2024, a total 39 request has been filed; 26 of the requests were already printed and sent back to PSA Davao Occidental; only one (1) request that is for investigation. Out of the 46 National IDs, 23 were successfully delivered or claimed. (Table 2)

PSA official launched Digital National ID website a new way to access the National ID

The website, launched by the PSA in partnership with Department of Information and Communications Technology, represents a groundbreaking shift in the way national IDs are accessed and managed. The new platform eliminate  barriers, introducing a streamline, digital-first approach that aligns with today’s fast-paced world.

As of June 2024, PSA Davao Occidental assisted a total of 66 clients of which 33 clients were successfully issued Digital National ID

PSA launches the new look of PhilSys check: National ID eVerify

In partnership with Department of Information and Communications Technology, PSA developed National ID eVerify a new and more streamlined version of then Philsys Check website with additional features. (Image 1)

National ID eVerify is an online platform that streamline the onboarding process (regulatory and technical) of Relying Parties (RP) to the National ID Authentication Services.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s been improved:

The National ID eVerify is at the forefront of preventing identity theft and fraudulent activities through quick secure, and reliable identity verification.

Facial Recognition and AI
Our facial recognition feature powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a cutting-edge solution that enhances security in identity verification and provides a user-friendly experience.

Republic Act No. 11055, or the Philippine Identification System Act, signed into law by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on August 06, 2018, aims to establish a single national identification system for all citizens and resident aliens of the Republic of the Philippines. The valid proof of identity provided by the PhilSys shall be a means of simplifying public and private transactions, and shall be a social and economic platform that promotes seamless social service delivery and strengthens financial inclusion for both public and private services. As a foundational digital ID System, the PhilSys will transform how services are delivered in the Philippines, and accelerate our transition into a digital economy, including to enable presence-less, paperless, and cashless transactions.
