Davao Oriental, 26 February 2024- The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have formed a strategic relationship, marking a significant advancement towards improved efficiency and transparency in the distribution of social welfare. The objective of this partnership is to accelerate the registration procedures for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) recipients.
Under this partnership, PhilSys will ensure that all 4Ps beneficiaries are registered to PhilSys and is properly verified and authenticated using the PhilSys database. By integrating PhilSys with DSWD beneficiary records, it will allow a more efficient, targeted, and equitable delivery of social protection programs and services to all. Hence, the province conducts registration and authentication activities in every LGUs to saturate the 4Ps beneficiaries five (5) years old and above who doesn’t possess a PhilSys Card Number (PCN).
Moreover, this collaborative effort also showcases the future arrangements and use of the PhilID as a tool in verifying the identity of every Filipino in their daily transactions. This initiative not only streamlines the beneficiary authentication process but also lays the groundwork for broader applications of the PhilID system, promoting greater efficiency and security across various sectors of society.
