In the continuation of the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) operations this year, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao de Oro coordinated the next phase of CBMS activities to the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Montevista and Nabunturan last 06 February 2023. These two LGUs are the CBMS-participating areas of the province who commenced their 2022 CBMS operations last October.

Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Abraham Enrico E. Gulay, Jr. spearheaded the coordination for the data processing activities in Montevista and Nabunturan. The office memorandum released by the Community-Based Statistical Services of PSA Central Office was cascaded to the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDC) Emilio Corias of LGU Montevista and Officer-in-Charge MPDC John E. Lofstrand of LGU Nabunturan. They were also updated on the progress report of their CBMS data collection and were given the guidelines and needed preparations for the data processing of their gathered CBMS data.

It was further explained to the lead office of the CBMS implementation in each municipality the importance of data processing and its preliminary activities wherein the CBMS Data Processing System (DPS) will be utilized to undertake completeness check, ID validation, consistency check, updating/correction of inconsistencies, and further scrutiny of data and maps gathered during data collection. In addition, since both LGUs are funding their CBMS implementation, additional resources are to be allocated specific to the training, hiring and wages of manpower, availability of computers, and the location and set-up of their data processing center. They were also informed of the updated timetable and the upcoming CBMS geotagging activities so that they can join the other five CBMS-participating LGUs in the province for its simultaneous conduct.

For more information on the CBMS activities in LGU Montevista and Nabunturan, please contact PSA Davao de Oro with telephone numbers (084) 817-0347, and email address davaodeoro@psa.gov.ph.
