On 26 July 2023, the Municipal Census Coordinating Board (MCCB) of the Municipality of Santa Maria, Davao Occidental convened at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall for the conduct of the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF) operations. The composition of the MCCB of Santa Maria took effect on 20 July 2023 through Executive Order (EO) Number 16 series of 2023 signed by the Municipal Mayor Claude Benjamin II D. Bautista. 
 

The organization of the MCCB is headed by Mayor Bautista as the Chairperson, Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Jessie A. Madulin of the Philippine Statistics Authority – Davao Occidental as the Vice Chairperson, Municipal Agriculturist Wendell Albasin as the Focal Person, together with the 11 members of the board.

Moreover, Executive Order No. 352 (s. 1996) mandates that the CAF shall be conducted every ten (10) years that aims to come up with data on agriculture and fisheries structures which will provide sampling frame for other statistical undertakings, and basic data for use in national and local development planning. Hence, the 2022 CAF will be conducted in September 2023, with 01 January 2022 to 31 December 2022 as the census reference period. 

As the secretariat finished the roll call of the members and the Chairperson declared the meeting in quorum, CSS Madulin discussed the EO No. 16, or the Creation of the MCCB, Proclamation No. 272, or the declaration of September 2023 as the National Agriculture and Fisheries Census Month, PSA Board Resolution No. 4 series of 2023 highlighting the duties and responsibilities of the board, the presentation of CAF overview, and the results of the previous census period.

The MCCB was created to ensure the cooperation of all departments and offices in the Municipal Government and private entities for the smooth flow of the conduct of censuses, especially for the upcoming 2022 CAF operations. The board shall meet once every six (6) months or as often as may be necessary.
