On 03 to 09 January 2024, Philippine Statistics Authority – Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office conducted the Third Level Training of the January 2024 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2023 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES)-Visit 2 at Splash Blue Beach Resort II, Barangay San Agustin, Santa Maria, Davao Occidental.

The training was spearheaded by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin, together with the PSA Davao Occidental personnel Senior Statistical Specialist Rodon S. Tahil, Statistical Analyst Charmaine R. Sabanal, and COSW Statistical Clerks – Kimberly Rose T. Vizcayno and Limwell C. Elemento. This training is participated by three (3) Team Supervisors and a total of 55 Statistical Researchers to be assigned in the five municipalities of the province: six (6) for Don Marcelino, 14 for Jose Abad Santos, 20 for Malita, 11 for Santa Maria and four (4) for Sarangani.

The LFS is a monthly nationwide survey of households conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population, that in this January 2024 shall be conducted together with the second visit of the 2023 FIES.

The 2023 FIES is the twentieth survey conducted from time it started in 1957, in which the field operation will start on 10 January 2024 until 31 January 2024 in the province of Davao Occidental.
