The economy of Davao City grew by 7.5 percent in 2023. This was an increase in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from PhP 495.40 billion in 2022 to PhP 532.54 billion in 2023.
Among the 16 industries, the fastest growth was observed in Other services with 21.7 percent. This was followed by Accommodation and food service activities with 21.3 percent, and Transportation and storage with 13.1 percent. (Figure 1)
The economy of Davao del Sur grew by 6.5 percent in 2023. This was an increase in the province’s total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from PhP103.71 billion to PhP110.46 billion.
Among the 16 industries, the fastest growths were Other services with 21.1 percent, Transportation and storage with 20.9 percent, and Financial and insurance activities, which expanded by 13.6 percent. (Figure 1)
The average annual income of Filipino families in Davao del Sur was estimated at PhP292.43 thousand. This represents a 12.3 percent increase compared to the PhP260.34 thousand average annual family income recorded in 2021.
On the average, families in Davao del Sur spent PhP186.72 thousand from January to December 2023. This was a 14.0 percent increase compared to the PhP163.75 thousand average annual family expenditure of 2021.
