Meanwhile, there was a slight decrease in 2020 with 12,088 recorded deaths. Noticeably, there was a spiking number of deaths in year 2021 (pandemic) with 15,385 deaths. And an increasing trend from 2022 with 13,175 recorded deaths to 13,426 deaths in 2023.
In Davao del Sur, a total of 3,173 marriages were registered in 2023, a 2.4 percent decrease compared to 2022’s figure at 3,251 marriages. It is noted that on average there are 264 marriages that occur every month.
In Davao City, a total of 7,692 marriages were registered in 2023, a 3.8 percent decrease compared to 2022’s figure at 7,995 marriages. It is noted that on average there are 641 marriages that occur every month.
In Davao City, a total of 27,257 live births were registered in the year 2023. This figure was lower by 1.2 percent compared to 27,590 total births in 2022. This translated that on average there were 74 babies born daily in the city.
In Davao del Sur, a total of 9,626 live births registered in the year 2023. This figure was lower by 5.3 percent compared to 10,161 total births in 2022. This also translated that on average there were 30 babies born daily in the province.
