Sarangani, Davao Occidental – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office officially launched the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) on February 3, 2025 under the theme: “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) System”, with a series of engaging activities held in the breathtaking island municipality of Sarangani.
The celebration commenced with a flag-raising ceremony, symbolizing PSA’s continued commitment to ensuring accessible and inclusive civil registration services. A motorcade through the island’s scenic routes followed, energizing the community and raising awareness about the significance of timely and accurate civil registration.

After the motorcade, an opening program was conducted wherein the guests were welcomed by MCR Annabelle David of LCRO Sarangani. This was followed by a message from CSS Jessie A. Madulin and a message of support from Mayor Adelan De Arce, emphasizing the local government's commitment to strengthening civil registration initiatives in the municipality.

As part of the celebration, PSA Davao Occidental also conducted the CRVS Quiz Bee for Local Civil Registry Office Provincial elimination, showcasing the knowledge and expertise of LCRO representatives in civil registration matters. This activity aimed to encourage friendly competition and promote deeper understanding of CRVS policies and procedures among local civil registrars.
A highlight of the event was the awarding of live birth certificates to beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) and recipients sponsored by Municipal Mayor Adelan De Arce, reaffirming the local government’s dedication to providing legal identity to every citizen.

The activity was graced by the five Municipal Civil Registrars and LCRO staff of Davao Occidental, along with SB Members of Sarangani, further emphasizing the strong collaboration between PSA and the local government in promoting civil registration initiatives.
To further promote awareness, PSA Davao Occidental conducted an information drive on the National ID system and the importance of civil registration, ensuring that residents are well-informed about their rights and the benefits of proper documentation.

Held in the island municipality of Sarangani, accessible only by boat, this meaningful initiative underscored PSA’s unwavering commitment to reaching even the most remote communities, ensuring that every Filipino’s identity is recognized and secured.
