18 July 2025 – DAVAO CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Davao Occidental is currently conducting the presentation of the preliminary results of the 2024 Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) for the Municipality of Sarangani at the Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City.
This activity is part of a series of preliminary result presentations across the province, bringing together key stakeholders - including local government officials, community leaders, and development partners - to examine the initial findings of the CBMS operations in their respective localities.
The CBMS is an organized technology-based system that generates comprehensive local level statistics. These data will serve as a basis in targeting households in the planning, budgeting and implementation of government programs geared towards poverty alleviation and economic development. The 2024 CBMS implementation is spearheaded by the PSA in accordance with Republic Act No. 11315, or the CBMS Act.
This presentation also serves as an opportunity for community validation, providing stakeholders with an opportunity to review and comment on the preliminary results. The insights are vital in ensuring that the results reflect local realities.
Present at the event are key officials from the Municipality of Sarangani, led by Municipal Mayor Adelan B. De Arce and Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Rachel Lee C. Reynado, along with department heads from the local government, and other local development stakeholders. The PSA delegation is led by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin.
This activity also aims to strengthen the collaboration between the PSA and the LGU of Sarangani to foster evidence-based policymaking.
