25 April 2024, PSA-Davao Occidental, Provincial Statistical Office –The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is mandated to carry out and administer the provisions of Act No.3753, entitled “An Act to Establish a Civil Register” and other laws on civil registration. Specifically, Article 6 (e) of RA 10625 mandates the PSA to carry out, enforce and administer civil registration functions in the country.

In order to effectively carry out this mandate, the Philippine Statistics Authority-Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office conducted Training on Simulated Birth Rectification Act and Administrative Adoption Registration Procedure on 25 April 2024, at Training Room, PSA Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office, Poblacion, Malita, Davao Occidental.

The training included two (2) topics: discussion on Simulated Birth Rectification Act and Administrative Adoption, which were presented by Social Welfare Officer IV Rosalie Preclaro of National Authority for Child Care, and the discussion on the Administrative Adoption Registration Procedure, which were presented by Statistical Specialist II Filomeno Alas, Jr. of PSA-RSSO XI.

The said training was attended by the Municipal Civil Registrars, Provincial and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers, and the Provincial Inter-Agency Committee on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (PIACCRVS) Members in the Province of Davao Occidental. The activity aims to facilitate the implementation of the law by providing a clear guidance, raise awareness and ensure a clear understanding of the provisions and implications of the law among Municipal Civil Registrars and Social Workers. This training ensures that administrative processes related to birth rectification and adoption registration are carried out accurately and efficiently.
