The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao de Oro is on track with their preparations for the implementation of the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF) in the province. They are in full swing for the Second Level Training (2LT) on Barangay and Household Data Collection for the 2022 CAF which started last 01 August 2023 and is set to conclude on 08 August 2023, held at Brgy. Tagdangua, Pantukan.
This week-long training program aims to ensure that uniform understanding of the agricultural concepts, operational definitions and detailed procedures will be transferred and instilled to the hired census field personnel before employing them on the actual enumeration.
“The 2022 CAF is a large-scale government undertaking that aims to determine the structural characteristics of agriculture and fisheries, among others. This nationwide undertaking cannot be done without hiring the office-based and field personnel. As we move along, let us ensure complete coverage and timeliness for the conduct of 2022 CAF in our province,” said Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Abraham Enrico E. Gulay, Jr. of PSA Davao de Oro during his welcome and opening message at the training.
This training has brought together a diverse group of individuals who are capable to train others as they will become the trainers for the next level of training. They composes of nine (9) Census Area Supervisors (CAS), nine (9) Assistant Census Area Supervisors (ACAS), ten (10) PSA Davao de Oro personnel, and resource persons from the Provincial Veterinary Office, Provincial Agricultural Office, and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Provincial Fishery Office. Moreover, this capacity building is esteemed by the knowledgeable and experts in their own fields, spearheaded by CSS Gulay together with Supervising Statistical Specialist Nova P. Vicente of PSA Davao de Oro, Senior Statistical Specialist Adeline G. Batucan of the Regional Statistical Services Office XI and Project Evaluation Officer I Jenne Elaine Limbo of the PhilSys Registration Office in the PSA Central Office.
The next level of training which will be attended by the team supervisors and enumerators of the 2022 CAF is set to commence on 14-20 August 2023.
