City of Mati, Davao Oriental- Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Oriental through the PhilSys Registration Team in the Municipality of Lupon partnered with the Philippine Army 66thIB to register residents of Sitio Sigang, Barangay Maragatas, Lupon, Davao Oriental on 23 August 2024. Team Supervisor Judilyn G. Azucena and Registration Kit Operator Ivy M. Abrigo together with the personnel of the 66^thIB defy the unpaved roads to cater to unregistered residents with National ID.

The initiative was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from the residents. This endeavor shows the government’s broader effort to ensure that all Filipinos, regardless of their location and background, are allowed to access the benefits and services associated with the National ID system. The activity became an avenue to provide unique identification to the residents of the community classified as Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA). By bringing PhilSys to this formerly isolated and conflicted community, PSA reinforced its commitment to inclusivity and equal access to services for all Filipinos. The National ID acquired by the residents will serve as their unique identity; simplify their transactions in public and private entities, improve their access to social services, and enhance overall governance. The activity also served to bridge the gap between the government and the community, to let the residents feel that the government is sincere in integrating their community into the National fabric.
