City of Mati, Davao Oriental- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Oriental is pleased to announce that 506,132 residents of Davao Oriental were successfully registered for the National ID as of 31 December 2024. This achievement marks a significant advancement towards the government's objective of establishing a unified and streamlined identification system for all citizens of the Philippines

The National ID Registration Teams in the province have actively participated in outreach efforts and established partnerships with various government offices and stakeholders to advance the registration initiative. Mobile registration units have been deployed to remote and isolated barangays to ensure the inclusion of all residents in the program. For the year 2024, the registration focus has shifted toward children aged 1 to 4 years, who represent the majority of registrants in the province.
In addition to conducting registrations for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Davao Oriental provides services for clients seeking to correct errors in their demographic information associated with their National IDs. Residents are entitled to free replacements for PhilIDs that have been compromised due to peeling or printing defects. Personnel assigned to the Registration Centers are also responsible for registering individuals for the electronic PhilID (ePhilID) and assisting clients in the process of requesting or downloading their digital National ID through online channels. The National ID, formerly known as the PhilID, is designed to streamline identity verification processes, effectively reducing the necessity for multiple identification documents. It serves as an official proof of identity, facilitating access to various governmental services and enabling transactions in banking, travel, and other official engagements.
Residents who have not yet completed their registration are strongly encouraged to do so by visiting the designated registration centers in each municipality. Furthermore, mobile registration initiatives are being conducted in every barangay to facilitate this process. Individuals may also take advantage of the registration opportunities available during events organized by various partner agencies of the government.
