10 July 2024, Brgy. Dalupan, Municipality of Don Marcelin, Davao Occidental – Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), as the agency mandated by Republic Act No. 10625 to carry out, enforce and administer civil registration functions in the country shall lead all relevant activities in provision of Act No. 3753, otherwise known as the Law on Civil Registry Status.
One of the major programs of the PSA is the implementation of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) in the country to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices.
Relatedly, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Don Marcelino through the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Don Marcelino headed by OIC-MCR Ginalyn De La Peña conducted the awarding of Security Papers (SECPA) to the 97 Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) beneficiaries of Brgy. Dalupan, Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental in coordination with the Dalupan Barangay Local Government Unit headed by Brgy. Captain Sancebar Bautista.
The event underscored the necessity of birth registration and the proactive role of PSA in ensuring that all citizens have access to their essential legal documents.
