The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office conducts the field enumeration of the 2023 National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey (NICTHS) in the province of Davao Occidental from 05 February 2024 until 06 March 2024.

The operation is being led by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin, and PSA Davao Occidental personnel Statistical Analysts Charmaine R. Sabanal and Mae Leonacor C. Sibla as the Provincial Focal Person (PFP) and alternate PFP, respectively.

The 2023 NICTHS is currently conducted by one Team Supervisor (TS) and 3 Statistical Researchers (SRs) who are assigned to the municipalities of Jose Abad Santos, Malita, Santa Maria and Sarangani. The TS will interview 21 sample barangays and the SRs will enumerate 389 total sample households throughout Davao Occidental.

The NICTHS is part of the larger Digital Philippines initiative of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). An initiative dedicated to providing every Filipino with access to vital ICT infrastructure and services. Hence, the implementation of this survey will be handled by the Philippine Statistics Authority, mandated under Republic Act No. 10625 (The Philippine Statistical Act of 2013), as the central statistical authority of the Philippine government on primary data collection.

The main goal of the survey is to gather updated household and individual ICT data that are necessary in producing internationally comparable core ICT indicators. Gathered information will serve as valuable input in monitoring existing programs, development of potential projects, and formulation of future policies geared towards the advancement of ICT in the country.

Moreover, the 2023 NICTHS will support evidence-based policies and plans towards the improved implementation of ICT services in the coming years. The PSA encourages everyone to assist our data collectors and support this activity as well as its future endeavors.
