The Philippine Statistics Authority Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office joined the celebration of the National Fire Prevention Month.

The office collaborates with the Bureau of Fire Protection- Malita, in conducting the simultaneous Fire Safety Lecture and the Fire Emergency Drill. The activities aim to equip office personnel with the necessary steps during a fire emergency. Considering the volatility of fire disasters, the office sees the importance of personnel preparedness in dealing with an untoward emergency. 

During the Lecture, FO1 Ibailio highlighted the importance of a standard use of a Fire Extinguisher with the application of TPASS, Twist, Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep. He also stressed out that a lack of knowledge during emergencies like fire contributes greatly to the severity of the disaster. Thus, an actual demonstration on putting out a fire was conducted.
