Davao City — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao del Sur remains committed to making the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration more accessible in remote areas across the province, ensuring inclusivity especially for Indigenous People (IP) community.
On July 8 to 9, 2024, PSA Davao del Sur conducted mobile National ID registration in a remote community in Davao City at Sitio Taga-Ibo, Barangay Malamba, Marilog District. Among those who registered were members of the Obo Manuvu, Manobo Klata, and Matigsalug tribes, empowering the Indigenous People with access to the Philippine Identification System.
The PhilSys Registration Team (PRT) trekked through hour-long hikes and crossed rivers to reach Sitio Taga-Ibo. This effort led to a total of 339 registrations in the area, including 67 children aged 1 to 4 years old, during the two-day registration period. Most of the supporting documents presented for registration were Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO)-issued Certificates of Live Birth and barangay certifications.
