Malita, Davao Occidental – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducted a consultative meeting with the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) on May 21, 2025, at the SPAMAST Administrative Building in Malita, Davao Occidental. The meeting aimed to strengthen the implementation of the National Identification System (NIDS) Authentication Service within academic institutions.

The PSA–National Identification System Section was represented by Registration Officer and NIDS Focal Person Al-Stephen Hervas and Information System Analyst Louie John Aro. Remote support was provided by Regional Focal Getto Pangandoyon and members of the NIDS Advocacy Unit. Together, the team led an insightful dialogue on the integration and real-world applications of the NIDS Authentication Service.

During the meeting, ROII Hervas presented Topic 1: Overview of Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the Philippine Identification Act. He emphasized the significance of a unified national identification system in improving public service delivery,facilitating ease of business transactions, and ensuring secure identity verification. Hervas also introduced the three formats of the National ID, explained the National ID Check, and conducted a live demonstration of the system.

Meanwhile, ROIII Pangandoyon presented Topic 2: Online National ID Authentication Service and Onboarding Process, offering a detailed walkthrough of its features and the institutional steps required for successful integration.

As the National ID system continues to gain traction across the country, PSA remains steadfast in its mission to build strategic partnerships that foster inclusive, secure, and digitally empowered governance.
