11 July 2023 – PSA, Malita, Davao Occidental. The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) of Davao Occidental conducted its 2 nd quarter meeting for year 2023 on 11 July 2023 at Training Room, 3rd Flr, Philippine Statistics Authority Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office, National Highway, Poblacion Malita, Davao Occidental. The meeting was presided by PSC Vice – Chairperson and PSA Davao Occidental Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin. 
 

The meeting was attended by 16 out of 25 member-agencies. Represented agencies during the meeting were: DILG Davao Occidental, Provincial Health Office, Provincial Veterinary Office, Malita Chamber of Commerce, Provincial Public Employment Services Office, Provincial Agricultural Office, Land and Transportation Office, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, Provincial Engineering Office, PGO - Tourism Office, Provincial Planning and Development Office, and the Municipal Planning and Development Offices of Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos, Malita, and Sta. Maria. 
 

The meeting started with the request for the approval of the following provisional agenda for the 2023 2nd Quarter Meeting:

1) Reading of Minutes of the Previous Meeting 
2) Business Arising from the Previous Minutes 
3) General Guidelines on the Creation of PSC 
4) Statistical Activities 
                  a. Updates on the Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) 
                  b. Updates on the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) 
                  c. 2023 Family Income and Expenditure Surveys 
                  d. 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries 
5) Data Dissemination on Latest Census and Survey Results 
                 a. 2020 Census of Population and Housing (latest variables) 
                 b. 1st Quarter 2023 Agriculture Statistics 
6) Training on Demography 101 (2nd Batch) 
7) Statistical Concerns of other Agencies 
8) Other Matters 
                 a. Updates on PhilSys Registration 
                 b. Updates on PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP)

The PSC, is the policy-making body on statistical terms, conducts quarterly meetings to discuss statistical challenges, any other important issues, and the resolution of statistical issues in the province. The Philippine Statistics Authority Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office recognizes the importance of the well-representation of local offices and agencies in addressing statistical issues.
