23 February – CITY OF TAGUM. The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) in Davao del Norte as the highest policy-making body on statistical matters in the province, convened for the CY 2024 1st Quarter Provincial Statistics Committee Meeting on 23 February 2024. The meeting was held at the Training Room of the Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Statistical Office-Davao del Norte. With the presence of fourteen (26) PSC member offices, the quorum was declared at exactly 12:58 in the afternoon by the PSC Vice-Chairperson, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA PSO-DavNor.
Highlighted during the convening were the agenda, to wit:
1. Presentation of selected Official Statistics of Member Offices
2. Approving the Provincial Statistics Committee Accomplishment for CY 2023
3. Collection of Official Statistics for the publication of 2023 Countryside in Figures (CIF)
4. Updates on the Conduct of the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (2022 CAF)
5. Generation of Macroeconomic Accounts (Provincial Product Accounts)
6. 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) 2024 Synchronous Implementation
7. Updates on Philippine Identification System (PhilSys)
8. Presentation of Latest Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) Resolutions
9. Presentation of Latest PSA Board Resolution
Agendum 1. During the presentation of selected Official Statistics of member offices, Ms. Richelle C. Pamo, Development Management Officer I of MPDO – Kapalong presented the statistical highlights of the Municipality of Kapalong from its location, geophysical features, land area, to completed infrastructure project of the municipality in 2022-2023.
Agendum 2. A video presentation was also delivered by the PSC secretariat showcasing all the significant achievements of the PSC for the Circular Year 2023. This includes the four (4) successful meetings convened, eight (8) average number of topics discussed per meeting, four (4) approved resolutions, and the participation rate of member offices which is at 58.62 percent. Also, four (4) member offices were commended for their perfect attendance to all PSC meetings convened during 2023.
Agendum 3. The release of the 2022 Countryside in Figures (CIF) signals the regular publication of CIF in the Davao del Norte. A timetable of activities was presented by Ms. Michelle O. Maningo, Supervising Statistical Specialist of PSA PSODavNor for the collection of data and preparation of the 2024 Edition of the CIF.
Agendum 4. Updates on the Conduct of the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (2022 CAF) was presented for the information of the body. PSC Head Secretariat, Ms. Michelle O. Maningo provided the committee with the update regarding the ongoing 2022 CAF operations
Agendum 5. The Provincial Products Account Statistical Analyst, Ms. Beecham M. Concon, laid-out to the committee the data to be collected for the 2024 Compilation of PPA. She also informed the committee of the 2024 timeline of activities of the PPA.
Agendum 6. Ms. Marivic M. Omosura, Senior Statistical Specialist of PSA PSO-DDN provided the committee with the update regarding the CBMS operation in the province, and noted that the 2024 CBMS synchronous implementation will include data items for the Population Census (2025 POPCEN). She also emphasized that all CBMS operations for the 11 local government units (LGUs) with 3 component cities and 8 municipalities of Davao del Norte will be PSA-Funded. She also informed the Committee that the PSA welcome all assistance to be provided by the City/Municipal CCBs, and PCCB Member Agencies.
Agendum 6. The PhilSys Focal Person Ronald Victor Q. Membreve presented the status of PhilSys registration as of 25 September 2023, and informed the body that the Mobile Registration for individuals under aged group 1-4 already starts gradually in the province. While the printing and dissemination of the PhilID/e-PhilID is still underway. He also reiterated that request for replacement of damaged PhilIDs is now accepted at the PhilSys fixed registration center located at the PSA Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office.
Agendum 7. Updates on PhilSys was done by PhilSys Focal Person Mr. Ronald Victor Q. Membreve. His presentation includes the Request for Replacement of Damaged PhilIDs and/or Defective Front-facing Photograph, Retrieval of lost 29-digit Transaction Number, and PhilSys Registration and Authentication of 4Ps Beneficiaries. Mr. Membreve added that Co-location Activities during the Family Development Sessions (FDS) will be facilitated, once schedule is identified.
Agendum 8 and 9. Presentation of Latest Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) Resolutions and Presentation of Latest PSA Board Resolution, respectively.
The meeting ended with the reminder of the Vice-chairperson to the members to actively participate in the regular quarterly meetings of the PSC to ensure higher participation rate for the CY 2024.
