“Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Decade”

A Monthly Meeting with the Local Civil Registrars of Davao del Norte was called for by the Chief Statistical Specialist on May 12, 2022. The meeting was held at the Training Room of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office (DavNor PSO), Osmeña Street, City of Tagum, Davao del Norte.

One of the agenda of the meeting was the implementation of PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP) with discussions on the provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the PSA and respective partner cities/municipalities of Davao del Norte.

The PBRAP is in adherence to Proclamation 1106, issued by President Benigno S. Aquino, on 20 August 2015, Declaring the Years 2015-2024 as Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Decade, as support on agreement to adopt the Ministerial Declaration to “Get everyone in the picture” in Asia and the Pacific, where the Philippines is one of the signatories.

Likewise, the PBRAP aims primarily the registration of unregistered Indigenous People (IP), Muslim Filipinos, fisherfolks and the poorest families.

The Local Government have manifested their cooperation in the conduct of PBRAP in their area of jurisdiction.
