The Davao del Norte (DavNor) Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) convened for its Quarter 2 Calendar Year (CY) 2022 Meeting on 03 June 2022, at the Training Room of the Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office (PSO), City of Tagum, Davao del Norte. It was presided by the Vice-Chairperson, CSS Pepito D. Amoyen and attended by seventeen (17) representatives and alternate representatives from member offices.
The meeting’s laid-out agenda, to wit:
1. Reading of profile of nominated and election of State Colleges and Universities (SUCs) and private sector representatives;
2. Support of PSC to the Provincial Product Accounts Data Collection;
3. Support of PSC to the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Roll-out; and
4. Inventory of 2021 Official Statistics of member offices as inputs to the 2021 Countryside in Figures of Davao del Norte.
During the reading of the profiles of the nominees for the State University Colleges (SUCs) and Private Sector representatives, the PSC, being the policy-making body on statistical matters, which also serves as the venue for discussion and resolution of statistical issues in the province, found it advantageous to open the nomination for organizations from other sectors, that are not yet recognized or represented in the council, hence PADO-CIDD representative, Ms. Annabelle J. Bañaga,SrCDS, moved to suspend the elections for the SUC and Private sector representative to a later time, and was unanimously agreed upon by the committee.
After which, the body was informed of the importance of endorsing the PSC resolutions supporting the PPA data collection and CBMS roll-out to the Provincial Development Council (PDC) for the approval and endorsement to the Office of the Governor. The members of the committee were also informed of the establishment of the Inter-Agency Committee on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Davao del Norte. It was through the initiative of the PSC that the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte through its head of office, Honorable Governor Edwin I. Jubahib signed the Executive Order No. 22 series of 2022, entitled “An Order Creating the Sub-National Inter-Agency Committee on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (IACCRVS) in Davao del Norte”.
