09 September 2022 – CITY OF TAGUM. As the highest policy-making body on statistical matters in the province, the Provincial Statistics Committee in Davao del Norte (PSC) along with its members assembled for its 3rd quarterly meeting on 09 September 2022 at the Training Room of the Philippine Statistics Authority Davao del Norte Provincial Statistical Office. The meeting was presided by the PSC Chairperson, P.G. Department Head of PPDO Davao del Norte, Mr. Nelson F. Plata, MPA, EnP, and was attended by representatives from ten (10) member offices.
Highlighted during the convening were the following topics in the agenda, to wit:
1.) Enjoining the support of the NGSs/LGUs/GOCCs/SUCs to the 23rd National Statistics Month;
2.) 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM) Activities;
3.) Participation of Media in PSC Activities;
4.) 2020 CPH: Number of Households, Household and Institutional Population, Average Household Size, Urbanity and Age-Sex Distribution;
5.) Full Year 2021 Poverty Statistics in Davao del Norte; 6.) Latest PSA Board Resolutions;
7.) Latest RSC XI Resolutions;
8.) 15th National Convention on Statistics; and,
9.) Updates on the Community-Based Monitoring System.
Prior to the approval and adoption of the above-mentioned subjects, the chairperson of the committee, Mr. Plata, proposed the addition of the agendum ‘PhilSys Integration and Implementation Plan’. The new agenda was then properly moved for adoption by Engr. Tessie G. Ababon of Provincial Engineer’s Office-Davao del Norte and properly seconded by Ms. Ma. Janice J. Boiser, STOO of the Provincial Administrator’s Office- Tourism Division.
It was also during the meeting that the committee approved through Resolution No. 8, 2022, enjoining support the provincial line agencies, local government units, academic institutions, and the private sector to support the 33rd NSM celebration in Davao del Norte. The PSC solicits the support of the various Provincial Line Agencies, Local Government Units, academic institutions and private sector in Davao del Norte through their participation in the approved NSM activities and implementation of their own activities such as exhibits, information and education campaigns, hanging of streamers, statistical contests and others, as it is important to achieve a successful and meaningful celebration of the NSM in the province.
Relatedly, the PSC also authorized the request to the Provincial Government to Issue an Executive Order, Supporting the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System National Roll-out in Davao del Norte, addressed to the Governor through the Endorsement of the Provincial Development Council (PDC), through the PSC Resolution No. 9, Series of 2022.
In addition, representatives from the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and from the private sector are expected to attend the next PSC regular meeting for the 4th quarter of 2022.
