The City Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Coordinating Board of the Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCoS) was officially convened for the synchronous 2024 CBMS at the Conference of the City Mayor’s Office, City Hall, IGaCoS, Davao del Norte last 28th of February 2024.
Chief Statistical Specialist Pepito D. Amoyen presided the meeting and highlighted the list of possible assistance to be provided by the CCBs.One of it is the provision of first aid treatment and emergency assistance for the hired CBMS data collectors and supervisors in case of accident (i.e., animal bites, etc.) or disasters encountered during the period of CBMS implementation and/or while performing the CBMS field operation activities.
It was also discussed the general roles and responsibilities of the CBMS Coordinating Boards. It is to issue communications, directives, instructions, and/or circulars to cooperate, mobilize, and provide support/assistance to the CBMS operations in areas but not limited to the conduct/provision of the following:
• Active participation in coordination meetings and activities.
• Publicity and information campaign for the conduct of CBMS.
• Venue for the training conduct, headquarters for the enumeration personnel, and machine processing.
• Transportation facilities for the enumeration personnel, and transport of CBMS forms, supplies, and materials.
• Communication and wireless Internet connection facility, if possible.
• Storage area for tablets, forms, and other materials.
• Health and legal services to CBMS personnel.
• Facilitation of enumeration in government-owned and private institutions, and other hard-to-reach areas.
Lastly, CBMS collects a wide range of socio-economic data at the household and community levels. This includes demographic information, household assets, income, employment, education, health, and access to basic services such as water, sanitation, and electricity. By capturing this comprehensive dataset, CBMS provides a holistic view of the living conditions and needs of local populations.
