INCLUSIVE IDENTIFICATION FOR ALL! In view of the progressing operations of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), the PhilSys registration team (PRT) of Davao de Oro collaborated with their PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP) team for the simultaneous conduct of National ID registration and the assistance for late registration of birth.
Last July 17 to 21, a total of seven (7) touchpoints where operated with the simultaneous conduct of the PhilSys Step 2 registration and PBRAP activity, namely in Compostela (for Brgy. Pansalan and in Sitio Pulang Lupa and Sitio Puting Bato of Brgy. Ngan), Monkayo (Brgy. Haguimitan and Brgy. Awao), and Pantukan (Brgy. Tag-Ugpo and Brgy. Araibo). From these operations, 266 residents were registered to the National ID while 118 residents were catered for the application of their late birth registration through PBRAP.
This team effort between PRT and PBRAP is also in partnership with the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of each municipality who is also the focal office for the PhilSys-related operations. Further, in their determination to cover those 5-14 years old individuals to be registered to the country’s identification system as well as provide assistance to our brethren whose birth were not yet recorded, mobile registrations were put into service to schools, institutions, even to the far-flung areas and marginalized communities.
To recap, PBRAP aims to increase the level of civil registration by ensuring that all births of Filipinos are registered in the LCROs. Consequently, each individual will have their Philippine Identification Card (PhilID card) issued which is a gateway for them to claim their legal identity and social benefits. Hence, through these undertakings, we “Get Every Pinoy and Pinay in the Picture” and have them take part in “PhilSys, ID Natin ‘To!”.
