The Philippine Statistics Office - Davao Occidental, represented by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin, Supervising Statistical Specialist Munria L. Banto, and Statistical Specialist Kimberly M. Ocariza, in collaboration with the Municipality of Malita, convened for the Municipal Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Coordinating Board.

On 5 February 2024, SB Member Hon. Carlo Chino G. Baliota presided over the meeting on behalf of Municipal Mayor Bradly L. Bautista at the Municipal Hall, Poblacion, Malita, Davao Occidental. A background of the 2024 CBMS rollout was presented, highlighting the necessity for collaboration and support from the members of the Municipal Coordinating Board.

Under Republic Act No. 11315, the CBMS will generate data essential for evidence-based policymaking and program implementation at the municipal level. This will streamline the identification of beneficiaries for social protection programs, conduct extensive poverty analysis, and prioritize community needs. Despite the establishment of a comprehensive information management system, the CBMS remains committed to upholding individual privacy rights in adherence to RA 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and RA 10625, the Philippine Statistical Act of 2014. Safeguards are in place to ensure responsible and secure handling of all collected information.

The municipal coordinating board will oversee the CBMS implementation in Malita. It will facilitate the necessary requirements and address issues that may arise before, during, and after the operations. This partnership between the municipality of Malita and the PSA reflects a shared commitment to fostering positive change, promoting sustainable development, and improving the quality of life for the residents of Malita through the utilization of reliable data.
