Philippine Statistics Office - Davao Occidental, represented by Senior Statistical Specialist Rodon Tahil, Statistical Specialist Kimberly Ocariza, and Statistical Analyst Karen Rozyll Abaro, in collaboration with the the municipality of Jose Abad Santos, convenes for the Municipal Community-Based Monitoring (CBMS) Coordinating Board.

On 25 January 2024, the Municipal Hall, Caburan Small, Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental hosted the gathering presided over by Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Roger Deloy, EnP, on behalf of municipal mayor Atty. Jason John A. Joyce, MPA. The meeting provided an overview and background of the 2024 CBMS rollout, emphasizing the essential collaboration and support required of the Municipal Coordinating Board. This joint effort aims to establish the importance of data-driven decision-making and evidence-based planning.

The CBMS will serve as a vital tool for the collection and analysis of data at the community level to identify rightful beneficiaries of social protection programs and to serve as a compass for planning projects, delivering services, and formulating policies, that will be inclusive for everyone. It is designed to capture comprehensive information that will ensure the individual’s right to privacy and uphold data protection both at the national and municipal levels.

The municipal coordinating board will oversee the implementation of the community-based monitoring system in Jose Abad Santos to ensure requirements are in place and to resolve issues that may be encountered. It will facilitate an exchange of information, resources, and expertise between the members for seamless coordination and collaboration for the duration of the CBMS operations. Through this partnership, an environment of cooperation and mutual support between the municipality of Jose Abad  Santos and the PSA can more effectively address the pressing challenges faced by constituents and ensure the efficient utilization of public resources.
