Philippine Statistics Office - Davao Occidental, represented by Senior Statistical Specialist Rodon Tahil, Statistical Specialist Kimberly Ocariza, and Statistical Analyst Karen Rozyll Abaro, in collaboration with representatives from the municipality of Don Marcelino, convenes for the Municipal Community-Based Monitoring (CBMS) Coordinating Board. This took place on 25 January 2024, at the Municipal Hall, Lawa, Don Marcelino. The meeting was presided over by Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Bernard C. Delute, EnP, on behalf of municipal mayor Hon. Michael A. Maruya.

The coordinating board will oversee the implementation of the CBMS in Don Marcelino and resolve issues that may arise before, during, and after the operation. This will foster collaboration and mutual support between the members through the exchange of information, resources, and expertise. This partnership between the municipality of Don Marcelino and the PSA aims to promote and implement data-driven decision making and evidence-based planning that will address the needs of the local population’s vulnerable sector.

The CBMS will serve as a vital tool for the collection and analysis of data at the community level to identify rightful beneficiaries of social protection programs and to serve as a compass for planning projects, delivering services, and formulating inclusive policies. The CBMS is designed to capture comprehensive information while ensuring the individual’s right to privacy and uphold data protection both at the national and municipal levels.
