The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office recently conducted Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz Bee Provincial Elimination at Emil’s Place, Brgy. Lawa, Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental during the 33rd Civil Registration Month Opening/Kick-off on 01 February 2023. This competition aimed to raise responsiveness and progress their understanding of the significance of not only Civil Registration but also other PSA mandates such as statistics and the Philippine Identification System. It also includes situational questions on various queries and problems affecting the public in terms of obtaining civil registry documents. 
 

The contestants came from the different Local Civil Registry Offices of the five municipalities of the province. Three (3) representatives from each LCRO were selected to represent their office (excluding the Municipal Civil Registrar). The PSA Quiz Bee consisted of three rounds: easy, average, and difficult, with equivalent points of one point, five points and ten points, respectively. Each round consisted ten questions. CSS Jessie A. maudlin acted as the quiz master.

The names of the winners were as follows:

3rd Place: Senna Yalon 
Office: Sta. Maria LCRO

The winners received certificates and will advance to the Regional Quiz Bee on 15 February 2023. However, following the mechanics for Regional Quiz Bee, only the regular employees of the different LCROs is qualified to join the Regional Quiz Bee. And with that, 3rd Placer Ms. Senna Yalon of Sta. Maria LCRO was replaced by the 4th Placer Mr. Reynaldo L. Martinez of Sta. Maria LCRO. With this CRM year’s theme, PSA Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office is looking forward for the continuous support of the LCROs in "Providing Efficient and Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics through Digital Transformation".
