The month of February is celebrated in the Philippines as the Civil Registration Month, in line with this celebration Philippine Statistical Office – Davao Occidental headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin initiated a School Forum on Civil Registration at SPAMAST-Malita Campus located at Malita, Davao Occidental on 22 February 2023.
The forum was conducted by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin himself. It was attended by the college students of different courses and faculty from the said school. Besides of having a hectic schedule of the participants a total of almost 88 teachers and students were in attendance during the said forum.
The presentation consists of 2 topics which CSS Jessie A. Madulin discussed, topic 1 was about the history and background of Civil registration. On the other hand, the second topic was about the different laws that affects the civil status of a person. The attendees were attentively listening to the discussion with interest as they clarified their queries throughout the open forum. Due to the limited time available since most of the students still have classes, the Director of student’s affair concluded to have the same forum sooner so that many students can participate and raise their queries about their civil registry documents. After the speaker answers the queries raised by both the teachers and students, the program concludes with a photo opportunity. Even though they were a little hung up and wanted to ask more questions, SPAMAST teachers were appreciative of the PSA's effort since it helped them understand the steps that should be taken, particularly when there are issues with their civil registry documents.
