19 February 2024, Adventure College of Malita – In celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month, The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin conducted Civil Registration Forum, Philsys Step-2 Registration, & Batch Request Entry System (BREQS) at Adventure College of Malita. The Purpose of the activity is to share relevant information regarding Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS), disseminate information on new laws that affect the civil status of a person, and register students and faculty members to Philippine Identification System.
The Civil Registration Month is celebrated in February of every year pursuant to Proclamation 682 signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino and issued on 28 January 1991. The observance of this annual celebration aims to remind the citizenry of their duty to register acts and events concerning status of persons, enhance nationwide awareness and appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents. This year’s theme is “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Services”.
The forum tackled two (2) topics namely: Basic Concepts and Procedures on Civil Registration which was discussed by Registration Officer I Marian Jade M. Caluyan, and the Laws related to civil registration discussed by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin. Also, PhilSys Registration Center Supervisor Sarah Mae A. Saquilabon enumerated the updates and services of the Philippine Identification System. During the activity Batch Request Entry System (BREQS), and the PhilSys Step-2 Registration were also conducted simultaneously.
After the discussion, students and teachers raised their queries about their civil registry documents and the lecturers answered the question being raised. Adventure College of Malita expressed gratitude to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office for the services and the information dissemination conducted in the school.
