The month of February is celebrated in the Philippines as the Civil Registration Month, in line with this celebration Philippine Statistical Office – Davao Occidental headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin initiated a School Forum on Civil Registration at Mariano Peralta National High School located at Brgy. Poblacion, Malita, Davao Occidental on 13 February 2023. 
 

The forum was conducted by Supervising Statistical Specialist Munria L. Banto and Registration Officer I Marian Jade M. Caluyan. It was attended by Garde 9 & 10 students of the said school. A total of more or less 200 teachers and students were in attendance during the said forum. 
 

The Discussion consist of 2 parts, part 1 was about the history of Civil registration and it was discussed by ROI Caluyan. Some of civil registration terms was also discussed during the first speaker. On the other hand, SSS Banto discussed different laws that affects the civil status of a person. Attendees were enthusiastically and interestingly listening during the discussion, as they asked lots of question and clarification during the open forum. After the speaker answers the queries made by both the teachers and student, the program concludes with a photo opportunity. Teachers of Mariano Peralta National High School are thankful for the effort made by the PSA as it enlightens their mind about the process that should be done specially when it comes to problems with their civil registry documents.
