23 February 2024, Gethsemane Worship Centre SBCI, Lapu-Lapu St. Poblacion Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental– Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao Occidental Provincial Statistical Office headed by Chief Statistical Specialist Jessie A. Madulin in partnership with the Inter-Faith Ministerial Fellowship (INFAMIF) Sta. Maria spearhead by Pastor Judie E. Nawal conducted solemnizing officer’s briefing in celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month pursuant to Proclamation 682 signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino and issued on 28 January 1991. The observance of this annual celebration aims to remind the citizenry of their duty to register acts and events concerning status of persons, enhance nationwide awareness and appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents. This year’s theme is “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Services”.

The topics tackled are the Basic Concepts of Civil Registration discussed by Registration Officer I Marian Jade M. Caluyan, followed by the discussion of Administrative Order No. 1 series of 2021 presented by Supervising Statistical Specialist Munria L. Banto. She explained the 2021 Implementing Rules and Regulations Governing the Registration of Authority to Solemnize Marriage of Bishops, Heads/Founders, of Religion and Religious Sects, Priests, Rabbis, Imams, Religious Ministers, Tribal Heads/Leaders/Chieftains, Community Leaders and Other Designated authorities with the Civil Registrar General. 28 pastors were present during the briefing.

After the discussion, queries and concerns raised by the participants regarding CRASM and registration of Marriages were answered by SSS Banto. At the end of the briefing Pastor Judie E. Nawal expressed his gratitude to PSA-Davao Occidental PSO in conducting the briefing for the pastors.
